I was excited at first because the books themselves were really cheap, which made it feel like I’d found a great little bargain. But once the shipping cost was added, it ended up being more than I expected and kind of took away the whole point of buying discounted books. It was a reminder that the final total matters more than the price tag you see upfront.

I was really hoping First Book would have a better variety of books showing different cultures, families, and kids, but the selection felt limited when I looked around. Maybe there are more options hidden somewhere, but they were hard to find. On top of that, some of it felt handled a bit carelessly, like not much thought was put into making these books easy to discover. Disappointing overall.

I really like how clear the donation updates are. It’s nice to actually know what’s going on without having to dig around for info.

I really wanted to like First Book, and maybe I’m missing something?? But the educator resources just didn’t help me as much as I thought they would. A lot of it felt general, and I ended up spending more time digging through stuff that didn’t really fit my kids. It’s not awful or anything, just not quite as useful as I was hoping.

I used First Book to find books for my classroom, it was really easy to navigate. The filters made it simple to narrow things down by age and topic, so I wasn’t stuck scrolling forever. Checkout was quick too, which I really appreciate as a busy teacher. I found what I needed fast, and now I’m curious what other teachers are finding on there too.

The books showed up in good shape for the most part, and I’m happy to have them. The box was a bit beat up, though, and one corner of a book got bent. Nothing major, but a little extra padding would’ve been nice.

The bulk options were way more confusing than they needed to be. I spent more time trying to figure things out than actually getting anything useful done. Just a heads up to anyone considering it, make sure you know exactly what you're getting into, because for me, it really wasn't worth the time.

I tried ordering from First Book, but the payment options just didn’t work for me. it was kind of ridiculous how limited it felt. I shouldn’t have to jump through a bunch of extra steps just to pay for an order. After messing with it for a bit, I gave up and left my cart because it was more hassle than it was worth.

I didn’t really feel like these books lined up well with our curriculum. A few of the topics seemed a bit off-level, which made them harder to actually use in class. They might be a good fit for someone else, but for what I needed, they just weren’t that helpful.

I ordered a few books from First Book most of the order went totally fine. The prices were good, which is why I ordered in the first place, but then one of the books ended up on backorder after I had already placed everything. Not a huge deal, stuff happens, but the updates were kind of slow and a little vague, so I kept wondering if it was actually going to ship or if I needed to do something. I ended up checking on it myself a couple times, which was a bit annoying. The book did eventually show up, and overall it wasn’t a bad experience at all, I just think the backorder process could be clearer and smoother.

I did get verified in the end, but it took longer than I expected. It kind of felt like the process could’ve been handled a little faster, especially since I was just waiting around without much clarity.

I like the idea behind it, honestly. It’s a nice concept and I can see what they’re trying to do, but something about it still feels a bit shaky to me. Like, I wanted to trust it more than I actually did. Maybe with more polish or clearer info, it’d feel better, but rn I’m kinda on the fence.

Not all of the picks felt like the perfect match for my kid. Some were fine, but others were a total mystery to me, like they came out of nowhere. It wasn’t a complete disaster, but I definitely expected the choices to feel a little more on point.

I ordered a bunch of kids’ books from First Book, most of it showed up just the way I picked it. The titles were right, the quantities were right, and the age levels matched too, so that was a relief. One book did have a slightly bent corner, and the packing slip took me a minute to figure out, but it wasn’t anything major. Overall, I’d say it’s a solid 4-star experience. The order was accurate, and I’d definitely use them again. I just hope the packing is a little neater next time...

I applied for a grant and overall it went okay, but I wouldn’t say it was the smoothest process. Some of the forms were a bit confusing, so I had to spend extra time figuring out what they were asking for. It also took longer than I expected to hear back, which was a little frustrating. Not a terrible experience, just not as straightforward as I hoped
